With a dramatic late-race pass of a Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Kyle Larson scored his second NASCAR Cup Series® victory of the 2022 season at Watkins Glen International. Larson and the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet lined up alongside the leader on the final restart of the Go Bowling at the Glen. The green flag flew with just five laps remaining and the 2021 champion used a bold move into turn one to his advantage. Larson escaped the first turn with the lead that he would not relinquish in the final laps for his 18th career NASCAR Cup Series® win. The victory also completed the weekend sweep for Larson, as he also was the winner of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Watkins Glen the day before.
