Jeff Gordon wowed NASCAR® fans when he rolled out a No. 24 paint scheme, dubbed “FireStorm,” that featured a new twist with the familiar flame and dayglo design that Gordon had been racing for several seasons before. The “FireStorm” look, which was designed by legendary motorsports artist Sam Bass, featured the signature fire-and-flames atop an aggressively dark base. Fast forward 15 years and Hendrick Motorsports driver will be paying homage to Gordon’s “FireStorm” paint scheme with a special throwback look at Darlington Raceway in May.
